Taxpayers’ Voice of Reason Radio, Saturday 3 – 5 PM on 1120 AM (KTXW), The Bridge

About the Show

The Taxpayers’ Voice of Reason is the most engaging and informative call-in radio talk show from the average taxpayer and small business owner’s perspective. As a long time fiscal conservative activist and former Austin City Council member, radio show host Don Zimmerman explains from experience how politicians and un-elected bureaucrats advance their “Progressive” religion (which they call “community values”).  That religion is imposed through targeted fees, taxes and ordinances; Zimmerman explains how voters can stop un-affordable, unsustainable city government through campaigns, candidates and referendums, and connects dots between Progressive/humanist policy and cultural degradation.

Host Bio

Don Zimmerman is a 5th generation Texan born and raised in the Alamo City.  Zimmerman graduated from Texas A&M in the 1980s with two degrees in mechanical engineering, which he says certifies him “half as smart as the average Aggie”, and he compensates by “marshaling both halves of my brain just to have a chance.” After decades of success in high tech software systems engineering, Zimmerman was elected President of his Municipal Utility District in northwest Austin in 2002. He spearheaded successful lawsuits against the City of Austin for illegal taxation and the US Department of Justice for violating Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act.  Zimmerman was elected Austin District 6 Council member in 2014; supporters and opponents both labeled him “the Taxpayer’s Voice of Reason”. Don & wife Jennifer have one young son.  Don Zimmerman learned that bureaucrats easily manipulate elected officials by controlling agenda and information sources and answering questions with half-truth lies. Zimmerman is a fixed wing and helicopter aircraft pilot.

Austin needs this Spokesman in order to continually expose the fraud, waste, and abuse that is hurled upon the people of Austin. My wallet shutters at what is about to happen to the fine city of Austin.

From years of personal experience, Don Zimmerman brings effective leadership to the realm of radio talk show for holding up the standard for fiscal responsibility and common sense government. Welcome Don, to the popular and influential arena of radio talk show for exchange of information, opinion, and news in Travis County.

Finally a man who is not afraid to stand up for folks that are so often trampled on by those who like to spend other people’s hard earned wages.

We need a voice like yours in Austin. This city is getting more and more unaffordable. The more the City Government does, the more it costs to live here.

Glad to be hearing Mr. Zimmerman on his new radio show for the first time this Saturday. I live in District 6 so Don represented me and he did a great job in doing so. He was one of the few conservatives on the Austin City Council. I think he will do well having his own radio show and have much impact. Congratulations Don.
